Meridian junior college, the place i was posted to in the first PAE. initially i was rather sceptic abt the whole issue, and had the thought that mj just wasnt for me, and it was a lousy place. but i was so freaking wrong! i mean if i really could transfer out during the 2nd PAE i would, but if i couldnt, i wouldnt mind stayin in mj.
first dae i reported, everyone was crouding arnd the notice boards to check their OG groupings, and as fate and God's plan would have it, i was assigned to Alhena 7, one of, or if not THE BEST OG in MJC. haha so went up to the hall, and the typical VS habits were still lingering, all the VS pple were in a group outside the hall, waiting to be the last to enter the hall... haha we juz din like the idea of being guai kais n following authority... yeah, its in our bloods. =P
however we finally entered the hall reluctantly, and was all seperated into the 5 houses of Alhena (;, Regulus, Vega, Sargars(wtf?) and Castor. haha cant believe mj had a house called Sargars... lol in VS there was this particularly lil irritating indian boi called Sargar. and man! was he a pain in the neck. haha he was the common enemy of VS, damn funny la the stupid things we did.
anw so i came to the Alhena 7 row, and upon looking, hmmm... no VS pple neither did i see any other pple i knew. so i was like alrite, nair mind, get to know new pple huh?! (: but after a while i noticed that as more and more pple settle down, Alhena 7 i was the only guy!!!! the only one?! omg... i was like is this is a blessing? or something bad... haha
but luckily after awhile 2 more guys came into the line and the whole line up was 3 guys and 15 gals... wow... haha from dat moment i knew i had a lot of cheering to do... haha n was seriously quite not in the mood to do so la... aint got my VS gang-ho spirit coming along u noe?
but as the orientation continued, i realised it aint such a bad thing, and the people in mj are nice and welcoming and the activities we did, though not as hiong as VS one, but it was still much fun (: and also someone had alreadi caught my eye... (-^ ^-)
we learnt mass dance and the couples mass dance as the 2nd day of orietation progressed. haha everyone who was unfamiliar with dancing was finding it rather hard to keep up, and especially me, cos in VS there aint many dancing activities, and we rather "dance" with a soccer ball and on stage. haha but after awhile, it got quite fun and interesting and the moves were quite cool actually ^^
haha den came the couples dance, and we were to pick our own dance partners and i think my face juz went all red la... n with much honor, i picked hui qi (: haha and i seriously looked stupid in dat vs pe shirt of mine la... all yellow and striking... lol. but yeah to be frank, it was the first time i dance with a girl. and i previously thought dancing aint one of my abilities... haha but i proved myself wrong (;
i had a great time and much fun, thanks to cindy and daniel and a few other hyper high ogls who came over to teach us the dance steps again and alas we got the hang of it rather well (: they even said we danced very well... haha ^^
3rd day was the trip to SENTOSA =P haha i met up with yong quan like wad 6am at pasir ris mrt station... and it was like seriously omg damn early la... but alreadi i could see alot of pple wearing the supernatural t-shirt... haha. on the mrt we met yong quan's frens, they were going to innova, which was very far... and they said even though its only 6am and they're already on the way, they will be late... cos its simply too far, and the day before they took the 5.45mrt and was also late... so they kinda gave up and are getting later by the day... haha
and there we were, running arnd sentosa trying to complete all the various game tasks and it really bonded us alhena 7 as a group and built the team spirit, and the spirit of lucien helping us cheat abit on the way... hehe! (;
on the way we sat the tram, and the driver kept saying a whole load of funny crap... haha "Ok, the tram is moving now, all passengers please stay in your seats for your safety, and my safety!" LOL... and he had this funny tone and acient which really made everyone laugh. den we transfered tram, and najid came up and ask the other driver if he could borrow the mic, and he repeated wad the previous driver said.. omg... damn funny... with his malay slang and punk style... lol killerz...
NJYC was also having their orientation at Sentosa dat day, haha and man were they looking for trouble... hehe.. at first at the ferry terminal, there was like 5 ogs assembled there la, all seated behind the info countered, so only one or two groups could be seen from the front. den one NYJC og came along and started to cheer... and challenge us... haha den lcuien and nalu asked all of us to stand, and POOF... 6 ogs juz stood up from behind and started cheering, and the NYJC pple were all stunned... with the (o . O)!!? look on their faces... hahaha! and they beat a hasty retreat and walked away from the challenge... lol MJC ROCKS!
but den the weather turned against us, and it began to pour, haha to think dat we actually wished for the rain to come so dat we didnt have to do so many tasks and run all over sentosa, han yun and lucien all were praying for the rain to come as well... haha
den there was a major screw up with the lunch time and somehow we had a 3 hour lunch break! gee.... so we were bored and decided to seat down by the road side and play... POLAR BEAR AND MURDERER... LOL (: and somemore we were right under the merlion... cool huh...
den go alot of fountains and stuff with fancy balloons and yong quan went to burst them -_-... while han yun koped one of the purple ones... lol
den the rain poured and we all went back to the shelters and decided to wait at the ferry terminal until further instructions. on the way, yong quan tripped over some hidden electrical box on the ground! wth? sentosa hide this kinda of hazards on the routes... hurrr... den his knee was braised and bleeding... haha den all the st. john girls in A7 came to the rescue... poor dude... he kenna injures on both his legs sia... dunno how he get them also...
den we finally went to assemble at Padawan beach for the final station... (: everyone was already gathered there and doing cheers! haha however because of the rain and delays, we couldnt do the last few stations and thus the council members decided to have a tele match instead! haha so they asked for 3 guys and 3 girls from each house to come up... and han yun forced me to go up... bleahx... so did genevieve and hui qi, ben chew, randy, and daren... lol but den they say too many from alhena 7, so hui qi went back and another 2 more guys from alhena 3 went back also...
and guess wad? the tele match was actually a couples dance competition... but my partner hui qi was in the croud! how how?! lol... so naturally i asked genevieve to be my partner since i din know the other girls anw... haha sorry wq =x i had no choice. haha wads most surprising is dat out of all the pple who were completing, got like 5 or 6 VS bois... haha damn funny... we're hiong, we cant run away from it... lol
so everyone was freaking nervous as we all forgot the steps and stuff... den lucien and daniel was busy teaching us last minute how to dance and all... haha yet again like the typical vs spirit of chionging last minute... haha (: we like it dat way...
finally heart all pumping high and adrenaline overwhelming... the competiton started and gen and i were like very funny and messy... haha but man was it fun... den there was a time when we ALL forgot wad was the next step... all the 6 couples juz stone there for few seconds... haha damn funny...
and the results... very nervous wor... especially when mj got so mani vs pple... and can tell they were laughing at me... lol bad pple... >.<>2nd!!! haha... damn cool la... felt like damn high suddenly... but wanted to dance with my partner more (; and after the competition there was more mass dancing... haha and the finisher with Mr Yeow asking us to go home in his funny manner... "people, its 6pm, i dunno abt u, but i want to go home!" LOL =D

new year service at Expo (-^ ^-)
the first day of 2006, i decided to spend it rather meaningfully. i met up with jun yuan and tsung wei early in the morning to go the city harvest's new year service at the Expo (:
man was the place big, and city harvest church had hit a record 2002 members and the turn up was overwhelming, young and old, came by car, bus and mrt from all over singapore, in unity todae for one cause, to thank the lord for the blessings he gave us, and also for begin a new year with a new start and new direction.
we sang songs and prayed a lot. and then there was the service by Rev. Kong Hee, which was quite unconventional and rather amusing. haha, he mentioned abt how he disliked christains who said they believed in the Lord, ONCE. who has followed the faith, ONCE. who has obeyed God's call, ONCE. haha it did add a lot of humour to the otherwise rather serious affair.
Remember Lot's wife he said, as he said not to look back at past memories or happenings that would make us bitter, sad or miserable. not to look back at past glories and continue to dwell in its yester-glory. not to look back at 2005 that was filled with sin, filled with problems and worries. and if we looked back, we would be like Lot's wife, who turned back and became a pillar of salt.
anw the service hit me in the face many times when the topics Rev. Kong talked abt were directly or not otherwise indirectly applicable to me. i was given new direction and well rather motivated and as for a non-believer at dat time, i was really touched and began to accept Jesus as my savior. that was when my road to being a believer started.
well den after the service we went over to the airport for lunch (: had some fried pork cutlet bento set haha. and as usual tsung wei was eating like.... bah... very slow... haha and over on the other side, jun yuan, lele and 2 cg members were busy playing dai dee and bridge. haha den i came over and dominated bridge (:
anw, it was a really fruitful day for me, even though the after service plans did not happen as the other pple we had wanted to play lan with pangseh us last minute... haha and everyone else wasnt really in the mood to continue la haha, but its ok ^^
